The Network membership is opened to South African stores, both operating stores and new/non-operating stores. New stores must have a ready to operate structure (building or container).
As a member, the store (structure) is provided by you and it remains yours; only with a greater competitive advantage. In short, it is like the “Uber” of local owned township retail stores.
Interested store owners and aspiring owners with a trading space can apply to join the Khona La family by filling up the application on our website. After processing your application, our team will contact you and come out to assess your trading space. You will then be informed whether your trading space is approved or not after the assessment.

Khona La is not a Franchise business. Khona La has its own Code of Conduct that Network members adhere to in order to ensure professional and seamless operations. There are no franchise and marketing fees that Network members pay.
Costs are dependent on the trading space / building structure i.e. the size of the structure as well as all other requirements. Some stores are already operating with their own equipment and stock; whereas some of the stores will require the equipment and opening stock. Khona La will confirm the costs after visiting and vetting your trading space/store.
